Christian Bautista To Serenade Gensan

Friday, April 9, 2010

When i had my first glimpse of Christian Bautista  in ABS -CBN's  Star in a Million in 2003,I said" this guy has a future in the  music industry".He had a well modulated-tenor  voice that blended in his broadway-inspired song. That time Sheryn Regis was my  bet for the number one slot, but on the final round,Erik Santos emerged as the champion.Sheryn was only second;Marinel Santos, third(Where is she now?)and Christian Bautista, only fourth..

But look at Christian now...He becomes popular... so fast!...He has many  top-selling albums ,made successful concerts here and abroad ,made some  movies , appeared in television shows and stageplays. He is also a product endorser-Bench,Skechers,Swatch,to name a few.A mainstay in ASAP,he's also  an effective host.

Bits of information from him:

Bautista was born in Manila, Philippines on October 19, 1981. He is the eldest of three siblings of Jo and Ebert Bautista. He was a choir member in their church since he was seven years old.

Bautista studied grade school and high school at the International Christian Academy, which also hailed other Filipino actors such as Ryan Eigenmann, Geoffrey Eigenmann, Rico Yan and Billy Joe Crawford. He then took up Landscape Architecture at the University of the Philippines-Diliman, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was a table tennis varsity player during college before focusing on singing and entering showbiz.

Christian’s international success began with “The Way You Look at Me,” getting frequent airplays in Indonesian radio stations. The song became an instant hit among the country’s young music lovers, even if they had yet to see the artist behind the ballad.

The song, penned by American composers Andrew Fromm and Keith Follese became so popular that record label Warner Indonesia decided to bring Christian there to the great delight of the fans whose support for the Filipino singer has been steadily growing and even spreading to neighboring countries.

And now he's an international star making a name for himself in asian countries like Malaysia,Singapore,Indonesia and Thailand.

I just love this song...

My other favorites include:Colour Everywhere,Hands to Heaven,So it's You,She Could Be, More Than You'll Ever Know and Everything You Do.

I was just lucky to see the Romantic Ballader in person and able to shook hands with him during his concert last year in Kcc Convention Center here in General Santos City ...He looked handsome in person than in screen. I was starstrucked, should I say.I could not forget the moment when he smiled at me habang sinasabayan ko ang mga kanta nya.E kasi  halos nakadikit na ako sa stage.Too bad I was not able to have a picture with him.

Christian is not only gifted with good looks and good voice but a well-toned body as well.Look at these pics and judge for yourself if he is hot and sexy...Well, for me ,he is!

And take note,he will be coming to General Santos City to meet me!Errr ...to have a concert at  Lagao Gym on April 23,2010 entiltled Christian Bautista Constant Change. Thanks Gensantos News Online Mag for the info. The concert's co-presentors and major sponsors are Drumbeat VenturesStarbright Office Depot,Vertical BuildersDGO Depot and the Office of the City Mayor of GenSan.

(poster grabbed from barilies)

As the  title suggests, for sure he will be singing his own version of Jose Mari Chan's Constant Change...Plus  more songs from his  latest album Romance Revisited-The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan.Isn't that great?According to Christian "It's a pressure singing Jose Mari Chan's songs", knowing that the latter is already an institution in the music industry. But ,oh em gee!, he did it with justice! The revision is great! In fact the album  is one of the best-selling OPM albums in the market and has topped the album charts of two of the country’s biggest record retail chains – Music One and Odyssey Records (8 weeks at #1). The first single “Tell Me Your Name” became the number one music video on OPM MYX Countdown for several weeks. My personal favorites in the CD are:Refrain,Deep in my Heart,Tell Me Your Name,Constant Change,Afterglow and A love to Last a Lifetime.

So, in this  stressful days because  of constant brownouts why not watch Constant Change..(for a change, hehehe.)
